5 Operating Modes

Programming the outputs to do exactly what you want is nice, trigger delays help with the timing, but often you need even more control over how your scare or prop is operated. We've programmed the mini with various operating modes to help it better suit your application.

 

Normal Mode	Ambient music loops when idle, scare sound and relays start once triggered. Pre and Post delays operate normally.
No Scare Sound	Ambient music continues playing during scare
Trigger Controlled Scare Length	The scare plays only as long as the trigger is held, looping if necessary. Great for actor-controller scares such as electric chairs.
Adjustable Scare Length	For busy nights one of the knobs can be used to temporarily shorten the length of the scare
Timer Mode	Scare on a repeating schedule up to 15 min.

Audio The BooBox mini uses a flash memory sound chip which makes it easy to playback and record up to 4 minutes of sound. Hook up any audio device to the BooBox mini’s audio-in and record the desired sound straight into the Chip. No computers, no drivers, no converting sound formats. Amplifier The BooBox mini includes a 22 watt amplifier, connect a speaker and you're ready to rock. For those of you with larger sound requirements, there is also a line-level output. Delays The BooBox mini uses dials for easy adjustment of your scare's pre and post delays.  With the pre-delay adjustment ranging from 0 to 25 seconds in 0.1 second increments, and the post-delay ranging from 0 – 15 minutes in 1 second increments. Trigger Input The BooBox mini has one input which can be used with normally-open or normally-closed contacts, making it possible to work with any type of trigger.  Adjustable pre and post-delays ensure the scare goes off exactly when you want it to. The mini can also be set to loop at 0-15 minute intervals.

Relay Outputs The BooBox mini has four 10 amp relay outputs. Each of the outputs can be set to either normally-open or normally-closed, ensuring you will be able to program almost anything. AC Outputs Outputs 1 and 2 are connected to AC outlets. Lights, strobes, motors and most props plug right in. Since these outputs use dual-relays both the AC and terminal block outputs can be used at the same time. Ambient and Scare Modes While the BooBox mini is not scaring, it is by default in ambient mode. Program the sound chip of the BooBox mini with what you want the patrons to hear as they approach the scare. Only audio can be programmed in ambient mode, a little foreshadowing of the terror to come.

Programming

Each BooBox mini includes a programming kit which contains everything you'll need to program sound and animation into your mini.

With the programmer you can create an elaborate scene by simply pushing some buttons. It comes with 10 feet of cable making it possible to stand back and watch the scene as you program it. Disconnecting the programmer ensures that once a scene is programmed it cannot be tampered with.

To record sound on the BooBox mini connect the desired audio device to the BooBox mini’s line-in. The mini will recognize an audio device is connected, and will automatically record to the sound chip when you press record. When the audio device is removed from the line-in, pressing record will now program the outputs.

Easily synchronize the outputs with sound, when you hit record the sound will begin playing, then simply synchronize the outputs with the sound manually as you hear it.
